come for the viz, stay for the craft (or vice versa)
This project was for the Australian Centre for Public History, University of Technology Sydney. The aim was to explore the memorials that were being created to celebrate Australia’s colonial past. Initially our research looked at memorials to James Cook and the Endeavour, but was expanded to other white (and all male) colonial figures. My work involved creating a data scraper to collect information from public sites, clean the data set, work with a historian to validate the data, then create visual prototypes.
