This election was my first in a newsroom. Boy. It was long. And then the election happened, and it just kept going until it was finally called. It was a great time though as I got to work with Greg Earl, albeit very briefly before he left the AFR. It was a pleasure to work with someone so invested and knowledgeable on a subject. The day after the election I gathered as much information as I could about the third party vote, and accessed data from the parliamentary library, to show what was happening in post WWII politics and the "other" vote. the beauty of this was that Greg was able to overlay all of his knowledge and annotate in great detail what was happening at each election. Again, Les Hewitt designed the interactive, and I was also excited to see this in the print version of the AFR.
