In May 2015, UTS held a Data Science symposium, showcasing the interesting and important research being done across various faculties in the field of data science. It was a fantastic day that highlighted the diversity of the projects that are being worked on, as well as bringing people together to share ideas, thoughts and their ways of working.
I created a conference poster to accompany a presentation given by Dr Theresa Anderson of the Connected Intelligence Centre. Theresa's presentation focussed on the light and dark inherent in big data and she encouraged conference participants to engage critically (and humanistically) with the data they use in their research and projects. She had also been engaging in a thought-experiment regarding the Qualified Self, and asked me to help bring to life aspects of the data that she and three other members of the team had been collecting as a group based on collecting thoughts across the day.
The poster was printed A0 and hung with the other posters produced for the conference. Theresa generously allowed my own profile to go with the rest of the team.
